For snowboarders who like mountains...

This blog has been created with the purpose of compiling almost all my backcountry days from my first steps in the Cantabrican mountains to mountain ranges such as the Alps and the Pyrenees, and hopefully filled in the future with many travels in the pursuit of great rides and remote areas. Enjoy the reading!

Col de l'Eissalete, 2524m....great powder day from start to end!

It snowed heavily for a couple of days so we stayed in. D-Day after the snowfalls in a perfect weather and snow conditions, with high quality powder from bottom to top. Really the days that everything is perfect!

Petit Parpaillon, 2884...a classic and long ski rando...getting powder in solitude!

The following day we took the right way. We had a very long day ahead, roughly 22km and +1300m. We were alone the whole day, which let us feel truly in the backcountry. Because it is far, probably few people go this time of the year. The summit slopes were amazing and totally virgin for only us! Of course that came with a price at the bottom part...

Arete de la Ratelle, 2617m...holidays in the southern Alps

First day of our holidays in the southern French alps, one of the few areas in the Alps that I Hat still never visited.

Involuntarily, we followed some people thinking they were going our way, but ended up in another place which was not the target of the day. It didnt snow for a while so snow quality was divided in 2: quite of a hardpack up to 2000m and very good and cold powder in the northern face above.

Brudelhorn, 2791m...looking for the southern dump in Valais

Doubtful weather until the last minute...Still decided to drive 3h to get there and see how it would develop. Weather was quite decent and snowpack much better than expected here at the very "back" of Valais. Somewhat long day with +1500m.

Still the area has much more potential I will be back to go to the summit just next which offers a much direct descent, and hopefully catch the forest in better condition.

Monte le Steliere, 2612m....Monday's powder in the Alpi Marittime

Monday off to catch this classing of Vinados valley in very good conditions. As the day before, fresh powder and some nice solitude with perfect weather.

My idea was going somewhere else, but the owner of the B&B recommended me this option....as usually, following the locals advice is a good thing.

Cima Gardun, 2260m...lifting of Piemonte restrictions came with a Powder day!

Travel restrictions were lifted and the Piemonte was hence reachable. Great powder in this almost prealps mountains in Cuneo. This reminded me of my home mountains where there are no pine trees and it is all deciduous forest.

High quality powder in the whole descent....as I got there by 8am and at 10am I was already on the top, slopes were pretty much still virgin.
