For snowboarders who like mountains...

This blog has been created with the purpose of compiling almost all my backcountry days from my first steps in the Cantabrican mountains to mountain ranges such as the Alps and the Pyrenees, and hopefully filled in the future with many travels in the pursuit of great rides and remote areas. Enjoy the reading!

Collado la Rimaya, 3.250m 27-28, 12, 12

We got la Besurta at 5:30 after a long drive from Asturias. So we hiked up to la Renclusa at the Moon light. Such an adventure! We missed the good track and followed other skiprints which also reached the refuge...Just happen that they didnt go through the most suitable place to do it at night. What´s more, we were pressed for dinner´s time! Hopefully we ended up arriving at the refuge on time.

The following day we just went up on some recent snow. As usual, let people go first is always rewarding. We avoided opening track  :D

The landscape is typical of high altitude. The forest is way below us, and basically we went through some rocks and slopes with moderate steepness.

Its quite a long ascent even from the refuge. Little by little, we got to see the summits we were aiming at.
From then on we were almost going on the glacier all time till la Rimaya.

After 4h we made it. It has been close to 2 years since I was for last time so high.

Despite being recent snow, it wasnt powder and we had one of the longest descent of the Pyrinees with "costra" snow.

At least, I had an splitboard so the ascent was the best of the day together with the last hour on the piste at the sunset.
